I have been involved with web design on and off by teaching myself HTML. I designed 3 sites for people's businesses which unfortunatly have either been redesigned or taken off completely. For my HSC electives I did an Information Processes & Technology course as well as a Software Design & Development course. In the IPT course we touched on webdesign but using frontpage which was not enjoyable. And in the SDD course it was full on code to create applications. My final project in that course was Battleships game with a fully working AI for a computer player. This is where I knew I could handle coding and why I pushed myself to learn HTML.

Situation

I am currently working in a supermarket, have been for 8 years now, and the modivation for it is no longer there. I have always enjoyed using a computer for various things and I find coding (whether it be webpages or programs) is very enjoyable. So persuing this enjoyment and making is a career instead of hobby is what I'm concentrating on now. With the previous knowledge of HTML and the taste for wanting more has pushed me to take this course at TAFE.

Future

I am egar to use this knowledge I have/will aquire to use it 5 days a week as a full time career. The decision to work for someone or for myself is yet to be decided as my personal situation needs to be addressed first and foremost. At the end of the day, I would like to be in the position to be designing and coding websites for a career as I feel the enjoyment and the drive for working will be restored.
